Sex & Intimacy Counseling

Do you recognize any of the following?

  • You’ve put sex on the back burner, due to life stressors, emotional disconnect or exhaustion
  • You no longer have sex or have it infrequently
  • Sex is not worth having, because it’s boring, unsatisfying or painful

If you answered ‘yes’, you’re not alone. It’s common for couples in long-term relationships to experience a decline in frequency, satisfaction, and desire.

Luckily, it doesn’t have to be this way. Are you ready to make a change?

Yellow Wood provides short-term therapy for committed couples who wish to restore sex and intimacy in their relationship. The program combines sex counseling with other forms of couples therapy, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Imago Dialogue. Click below to learn more about the program.

living abroad

Life brings many challenges, especially while living abroad. In 2000, I experienced this firsthand when I moved from Boston to Amstelveen.

With over 18 years of experience, I understand the struggles expats face when navigating life and relationships.

Do you wish you had more sex and intimacy in your relationship?

Do you feel stressed, confused, and withdrawn from life?

Do you need more empathy, support, and understanding?

My name is Debby Poort and I help people just like you.

Since 2007 I have worked with countless clients from around the world. You are not alone and I can help lead the way to a more fulfilling life.

Fees for individual therapy may be (partially) reimbursed by many Dutch insurance companies within supplemental (‘aanvullende’) insurance under the category alternative medicine (‘alternatieve geneeswijzen’).

Couples therapy is typically not covered by Dutch health insurance, however it is recommended that you double check with your provider.

Yellow Wood is registered with the RBCZ and the VIT.

I do not have any contracts with insurance providers. Therefore, clients are responsible for checking with their insurance provider to determine whether or not they will receive reimbursement.

No. As my services do not fall under basic health insurance, you do not need a referral from your doctor.

Please check with your insurance provider to see if you are eligible for partial reimbursement.
